About Our Practice

Bringing you the best of today’s hearing and balance solutions.

A full hearing and/or balance evaluation will be done based on your symptoms and needs after going through a comprehensive questionnaire.   All test results will be explained to you at the time of testing and reports of the findings can be forwarded to your physician.  Appropriate referrals to other health care providers such as physical therapists will be discussed with you.

Balance evaluations are done with state-of-the-art Videonystagmography (VNG), Vestibular Evoked Myogenic Potentials (VEMPs) and/or Auditory Evoked Potentials (ABR) tests.  With VNG, the eyes are monitored while the patient looks at lights on a light bar, assumes different head positions while sitting and supine, and undergoes air caloric studies stimulating each inner ear to assess how the balance centers in each ear are functioning.  Balance problems are often-times managed by exercises, a combination of medication and/or through physical therapy.  Evoked potential tests (VEMP and ABR) further assess the neurologic connections of the vestibular and auditory systems.

After a thorough hearing evaluation, if hearing aids are a viable option for you, we will discuss how they can improve communication for you especially in background noise or when in small group situations.   Your audiologist will guide you through the process of choosing the right style and type of hearing aid for you.  The audiologist will work closely with you and if desired, your family members, to ensure you achieve optimal listening ability in spite of your hearing loss.  A  45 day trial period is allotted after purchase to enable you to wear your new hearing aids in all your regular surroundings and truly give them a “test drive.”
